TitleCopy letter from Michael Foster, to Sir John Murray, Fellow of the Royal Society
Date24 October 1901
DescriptionOn 4 July the President [William Huggins] and Council appointed a Committee to report on a letter from Mr Garstang enquiring whether the Royal Society could assist with advice in the International Exploration of the Sea proposed at an International Conference held at Christiania last May. Since then a Departmental Committee has been appointed by the Board of Trade to consider the matter. Queries if this renders the Society's Committee unnecessary. If not, the Committee ought to meet soon to consider the situation. Asks when would be convenient for a meeting.
