TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Professor George Howard Darwin, Fellow of the Royal Society
Date10 December 1901
DescriptionUnderstands from Sir M Foster that Darwin wishes for particulars regarding his appointment to Governor elected by the Royal Society, upon the Governing Body of Charterhouse. The statute made under the Public Schools Act places no limit of time upon the tenure of office of the Governors elected by various bodies, and Harrison believes them to be life appointments. Darwin was elected on the Governing Body in 1895 in succession to Mr Hulke, who died. Harrison can show Darwin the statute of the school.
