TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Professor William Abbott Herdamn, Fellow of the Royal Society, Chairman of the Zoology Sectional Committee
Date11 December 1901
DescriptionProfessor [Edwin Ray] Lankester has communicated as for the 'Proceedings [of the Royal Society]' a paper by Mr F V Theobald, 'A Short Description of the Culicidae of India, with Descriptions of New Species of Anopheles'. Sir M Foster thinks this a very valuable contribution which ought to be published. Foster feels certain the paper will be accepted by the Malaria Committee to be published as one of their Reports, but he would like the opinion of the Zoology Committee as to whether it should appear in the 'Proceedings' having regard to its considerable length and its being a technical description of a species, and as such, of a rather unusual character for the 'Pridceedings'. Foster is so convinced of the paper's value he has authorized Harrison to set it up in type at once.
