TitleCopy letter from Joseph Larmor, to the Under Secretary of State for India, 20 December 1901
Date20 December 1901
DescriptionIn reply to the Under Secretary's letter of 7 December, S. 13386, the Society referred to the Chairman of the Observatories the Under Secretary's request for the Committee's report on the application for new instruments for the Kodaikanal Observatory.

The details of the instruments have been under consideration by the Committee for several months but they have ben awaiting the receipt of copies of the last year's report of the Observatory in order to ascertain how far the proposed new instruments could be advantageously employed in addition to the instruments already in the observatory. Copies of the report have just been obtained but it does not contain the list of instruments.

It is proposed the Committee meet in the middle of January to consider their report and in the meantime if itwere possible to obtain the list of instruments, this would greatly facilitate their labours.
