TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Thomas Andrews, Fellow of the Royal Society
Date25 January 1902
DescriptionAndrews' paper on the micro-crystalline structure of platinum has been under the consideration of a Sectional Committee of the Society and it is proposed that it be published in the 'Proceedings [of the Royal Society]' with the four illustrations arranged on a single plate, having been photographically reduced. It has been suggested Andrews mention the work of Dr Liversidge, 'On the Crystalline Structure of Gold and Platinum Nuggets and Gold Ingots' Royal Society of New South Wales, 3 October, 1894 and point out the close resemblance between the joints in his sections of platinum and those in pure gold as shown in the paper by Omsond and Roberts-Austen, 'Philosophical Transactions [of the Royal Society]' 1896, vol 187 A. Presumes Andrews will be able to lend the negatives if necessary.
