TitleCopy letter from Sir Michael Foster, to [Carsten Egeberg] Borchgrevink
Date22 February 1901
DescriptionPresident and Council are willing to publish the Magnetic and Meteorological Observations in 'Philosophical Transactions [of the Royal Society]'. The Royal Society will bear the cost of publication, but the cost of preparing for publication should be met by the Expedition.

For Magnetic Observations: The cost of using the National Physical Laboratory is £25. Dr [Charles] Chree is willing to do some of the work without remuneration, but assistance will be required, and it is best to employ Bernacchi. His services will be needed for about six weeks.

For Meteorological Observations: Seems desirable to also employ Bernacchi. Costs are estimated to run to about £30, and all in the expenses of the preparing for publication could be £100. Asks Borchgrevink to arrange a meeting with him soon.
