TitleCopy letter from Sir Michael Foster, to Sir Francis Mowatt
Date11 April 1902
DescriptionThe grant in aid of scientific investigation and scientific publications is not administered by President and Council of the Royal Society, but by a special committee appointed by terms laid down by the Lords of H M Treasury. Foster is not prepared to say until the committee meets in May whether it would be prepared to assist in the expenses of the investigation relative to the outbreak of sleeping sickness in Uganda.

As the matter is urgent President and Council will take responsibility of assuring that the committee will be prepared to pay the scientific expenses of the observers.
