Description | The President and Council accept the resignation of Francis Galton as a member of the [Meteorological] Council, and send their appreciation of his long and valuable service. They nominate Sir Richard Strachey, Professor [George Howard] Darwin, Dr [Alexander] Buchan and [William Napier] Shaw to be the directors. They also nominate Sir Richard Strachey as the Chairman.
They wish to bring the number of the Association up to ten, and so nominate the Earl of Rosse, Mr [John Young] Buchanan, [William Henry] Dines and Dr [Robert Henry] Scott. They should not receive an honorarium for their attendance, as it may present legal difficulties. |
