TitleCopy letter from Archibald Geikie, to The Under Secretary of State, Colonial Office
Date3 June 1904
DescriptionPresident and Council are satisfied with the arrangements being made for the investigation into Malta Fever. An important branch of the enquiry will relate to the epidemiology of the disease, and so it will be necessary to secure the services of an experienced observer. The Local Government Board will probably be willing to lend one of its medical staff, on the condition it will be remunerated at the rate of £500 per annum for a substitute. This would be defrayed by the War Office, Admiralty and Colonial Office.
