TitleCopy letter from Sir Michael Foster, to Professor [Walter Noel] Hartley, Fellow of the Royal Society, and Mr Hugh Ramage
Date23 January 1901
DescriptionCommends to them the opinion of the Committee that their paper 'An Investigation of the Spectra of Flames Resulting from Operations in the Open-Hearth and "Basic" Bessemer Processes' might be modified to some extent, and that they will adopt the following suggestions:

1. To eliminate altogether the detailed records from page y to page 25, seeing as the complete tables are given on pages 44, 45 and 46.

2. Omit later tables on pages 48,49 and 50 as necessary.

3.State on page 57, where impurities in the new materials are detailed, the metals other that iron found in the crude metal by spectroscopic observation.
