TitleCopy letter from Joseph Larmor, to Professor J C Beattie, Cape Town
Date11 July 1904
DescriptionIf the Royal Society did publish the results of the Magnetic Survey of South Africa, it would be as a separate volume, uniform with 'Philosophical Transactions [of the Royal Society]', and with the forthcoming reports relating to the National Antarctic Expedition including its magnetic results, and also with the report on the Krakatoa eruption.

It is to be distinctly understood that the Royal Society would receive a guarantee from the Colonial Governments concerned that the whole expenses would be repaid. A volume of 500 pages would cost about £325 for 1000 impressions, excluding maps. The cost of an extra 100 copies would increase this figure by about 50 percent.
