Date15 July 1904
DescriptionCouncil has had under consideration the question of referring the American proposal relating to Solar Research to the International Association of Academies. A large fund would be provided by the Carnegie Institution of Washington, and a project would be partially launched at St Louis next September. It would be desirable for a British astronomer to offer their view, so Council have set up a joint committee with the Royal Astronomical Society.

They have asked the representative at the St Louis meeting to stipulate for harmonious working with the Solar Physics sub committee of the International Meteorological Committee.
