DescriptionThe Association of the Meteorological Council is to consist of seven more people, not exceeding ten, of whom one is to be the Hydrographer of the Admiralty. Four are to be appointed as Directors to manage the business of the Association, they are: Sir Richard Strachey, Professor [George Howard] Darwin, Dr [Alexander] Buchan and [William Napier] Shaw to be the directors. They also nominate Strachey as the Chairman. Shaw is to be Secretary.

Other members of the Association should be the Earl of Rosse, Mr [John Young] Buchanan, [William Henry] Dines, Professor [Arthur] Schuster and Dr [Robert Henry] Scott.
