TitleCopy letter from Sir Michael Foster, to William Carruthers, Fellow of the Royal Society
Date23 January 1901
DescriptionHis letter has been laid before the President and Council, and they wish Foster to tell Carrthuers that the Publication Fund is presently exhausted. Moreover, President and Council do not think that the Fund should be given for the purpose Carruthers proposes. It's true that the Royal Society once gave a grant to the Physical Society to aid in publication of their extracts, but this was only to assist them in the inauguration of their enterprize. President and Council are not willing to regularly subsidize such undertakings.
