| Description | They have found in the Principia the originals of the figures given on the reverse of the Royal Medal, but Harrison has shown Austen's questions to Dr [Joseph] Larmor, who was in this morning, and Larmor thinks the die had better remain as it is so far as the figures are concerned. The outside planet on the solar system figure is meant for Saturn and Larmor thinks the dots are really intended for lines representing the section of the planets ring, and not satellites. Larmor thinks thinks this should be left as it is. Regarding the reverse in general, Larmor thinks there is a general consensus of opinion that it is very ugly, and suggests Harrison consult Austen as to the possibility of improving it. For instance the great depth of the rim helps to give the medal a very heavy appearance.
