| Description | Milne will not be in town before the 29 November and again on 5 December. Dr [Joseph] Larmor considers that a meeting [regarding seismology] without Milne would be practically useless, and suggests a memorandum be sent to the members of the Committee accompanied by a precise of the international replies to Foster's letter, and to ask whether a reply to the Foreign Office could be drawn up without bringing them together, unless they desire to meet. Imagines such a circular would best be accompanied by a draft of the reply proposed to be sent to the Foreign Office and this must be based upon the international replies, which Harrison has not yet abstracted. Asks if Foster concurs in this course.
Encloses proof of Dr Armstrong's memorandum [not enclosed]. The amendments are Armstrong's own, received this morning.
Encloses a letter from Dr Christy with correspondence between Christy and Dr Low, also a letter to Foster from Low. [No enclosures present]. |
