TitleCopy letter from Sir Michael Foster to, the Editor, 'Lancet', and the Editor, 'The British Medical Journal'
Date19 April 1903
DescriptionFoster made it clear in a covering letter that the report by Dr Castellani he was sending to them was to be treated as coming from the author, not the Royal Society. Unfortunately they did not make this clear. Foster has now had a communication from Dr Annibal Bettencourt of Lisbon based on the view that the Royal Society was responsible for the publication of Castellani's paper. He has written to explain the situation, and hopes they will make it clear to their readers.
