Description | Regarding the letter from Arthur William Rucker of 20 July 1901 regarding a programme of work to be done at the Kodaikanal Observatory, the Committee have now had an opportunity to discuss the matter with Michie Smith. They are now of the opinion that, in view of the additions to the equipment of the Kodaikanal Observatory, a single European observer is insufficient, and they recommend that in order to carry out the programme of work, a European assistant observer should be appointed without delay.
The Director of the Observatory at Kodaikanal should be empowered to correspond directly with the Committee with regard to the scientific work of the Observatory, such correspondence being reported to the Meteorological Reporter. |
