TitleCopy letter from Michael Foster and Joseph Larmor, to Lieutenant General N Artamanoff, Chef de la Section Topographique de l'Etat Major, Ministere de la Guerre, St Petersburg
Date15 July 1903
DescriptionIn reply to Artamanoff's letter of 26 June and 9 July, Foster requests the transmission to the Royal society of the appareil d'Jederin and accessories for the measurement of a 25 metre base, which Artamanoff is so good as to lend for the purpose of the South African arc. As Artamanoff states that the equipment is presently somewhat deranged Foster requests that the Society be allowed to have it put in order by Messrs Troughton and Simms, whom they understand are the makers, before it is dispatched to South Africa.
