Title | Copy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Alfred Bray Kempe, Treasurer of the Royal Society |
Date | 12 January 1904 |
Description | Harrison suggests that Kempe consult a letter from [John Scott] Keltie immediately, pointing out that it ignores Harrison's last letter, written under Kempe's direction, which highlighted the fact that the terms of the letter to Scott were to be dependent on whether the Royal Geographical Society agree to the Royal Society's proposal to approach the Admiralty. He speculated that this is part of a pattern of Markham pushing his own views under the guise of saving time.
He asks Kempe what 'immediate answer' should be sent to the Royal Geographical Society, and supposes that Kempe will discuss the matter with others. |
