TitleCopy letter from Secretary of the Royal Society [Sir Archibald Geikie], to Dr Henry Charlton Bastian, Fellow of the Royal Society
Date19 January 1904
DescriptionBastian's note on the "Probable mode of infection by the so-called Filaria Perstans" has, after consideration by the Committee, been found not suitable for publication in Proceedings of the Royal Society. Geikie goes against the custom of not providing reasons for non-publication so as to suggest that, as the note is essentially a suggestion of further observation upon Filaria Perstans, it might be more suitably published as a communication to a medical paper. As it has yet to be formally read to the Society, he may withdraw it to adopt the suggestion, otherwise it will become the Society's property.
