TitleCopy letter from Archibald Geikie, to the Assistant Under Secretary, Colonial Office
Date30 January 1904
DescriptionGeikie acknowledges receipt of their letter of 25 January, reference 2295/1904 which enclosed a copy of a despatch from the Governor of Malta concerning Mediterranean fever. He states that the Council of the Royal Society will consider the matter, and it is likely they will ask the Tropical Diseases Committee if they will undertake the duty.

He highlights the considerable expense incurred by the Society in pursuance of enquiries as requested by various Government departments, and notes that they cannot undertake any investigations likely to involve significant expenditure.
