Title | Copy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to the Honorable Charles Algernon Parsons, Fellow of the Royal Society |
Date | 16 February 1904 |
Description | Harrison informs Parsons that his request for the resuspension of Campbell Swinton's certificate is too late for the present year, with 31st December being the last date for receipt of new certificates or requests for re-suspension according to new Statutes. The amended Statutes also set the maximum period that a certificate can be suspended for consecutive years at five, with the order for resuspension to be renewed annually to avoid the certificate lapsing.
Parsons cannot cite lack of notice, as these Statutes were communicated to Fellows of the Royal Society in August 1903, and highlighted in the Annual Report of Council which was sent to Fellows before the Anniversary Meeting. |
