Title | Copy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Professor Edwin Ray Lankester, Fellow of the Royal Society |
Date | 15 February 1904 |
Description | Harrison apologises for having failed to inform Lankester of the first postponement of the Tropical Disease Committee meeting, and explains it was decided that the whole of Nabarro's report was to be printed but there was not enough time for this to happen and the abstract to be circulated before the proposed meeting. Harrison was, as he has been accustomed to do without question, following the instructions of Sir Michael Foster without thinking of the fact that Foster is no longer in Office at the Society, and so neglected to enquire whether Lankester had been consulted on the matter.
He emphasises that it was an oversight, rather than a lack of respect on his or Foster's part, which caused the error, and asks that Lankester accept his apology. |
