TitleCopy letter from Joseph Larmor to Sidney Howard Vines, Fellow of the Royal Society
Date20 April 1904
DescriptionLarmor explains that he did not interpret Vines' letter as a request to bring Dr Waller's remarks at the meeting of the Royal Society to the notice of Council, and he is certain they would abstain from action on oral remarks if correctly reported. He believes Harrison has suggested the gist of the remarks was not as offensive as Vines' describes and Larmor concurs.

Larmor states that the Council must await the report from the Sectional Committee on the paper Vines refers to, and that having glanced at the abstract Larmor believes the whole paper must be seen before a decision can be reached on publication. He believes the Physiology Committee are doing all they can for the paper, and comments on his previous experience of papers of his which he inherited when he took up his current post.
