TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Professor John Milne, Fellow of the Royal Society, Shide, Newport
Date4 January 1904
DescriptionHarrison responds to Milne's letter of 24 December to inform him that he is unable to send Dr Knott's certificate for the addition of signatures as the rules state that the certificates are not allowed to pass out of the Royal Society's custody once they have been lodged. He asks if he may interpret Milne's letter as a request for the re-suspension of the certificate, and if so, he believes it to have been received within the statutory time. Harrison, however, remarks that under revised Statute, as this is the fifth year of suspension for this certificate, it will lapse if the candidate is not elected.

Harrison's delayed response was due to the closure of the office the previous week.
