| Description | In reply to Glazebrook's enquiry of 1 January he explains that the nomination of a successor to Mr Milton on the General Board has not yet been received. He further states that a response to their reminder from the Naval Architects stated that the matter was to be presented at their next Council meeting, and a letter from Mr Elgar to Professor Joseph Larmor said that they would nominate a member in the next month, though it was unclear whether that meant December 1903 or January 1904.
He communicates Larmor's suggestion of a circulation form to be sent to those bodies from whom nominations are due for the National Physical Laboratory, and asks if Glazebrook will arrange for a memorandum listing the vacancies which will be occurring to be sent to Harrison in the autumn. He will then ensure notices are sent to those concerned.
Harrison has discovered that the Gassiot Committee met in March 1902, but in February 1903 Glazebrook summoned it, and asks that he is given as much notice as possible of when it will meet as he has to attend it officially as it is a Royal Society Committee. |
