TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Dr William Maddock Bayliss, Fellow of the Royal Society
DateMay 1904
DescriptionHarrison explains that the Physiological Sectional Committee have considered Bayllis' report on Professor Bose's paper, but return it for his opinion on issues which have subsequently come to their attention, namely allegations that the paper appears to be a simplified version of Bose's paper published in the Linnean Society's Journal, and that the statements in both of Bose's papers are merely repetition and development of those already made by Dr A D Waller.

In order that they do not break the Royal Society's rule of not publishing papers which have already appeared in other publications, Harrison includes for reference, the paper presented to the Society, the Linnean Society Journal containing Bose's paper, and two of Waller's published papers with a comparative summary of the three papers by Waller.

Harrison asks that he return the enclosures and a statement on whether he adheres to his original recommendation for publication in Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society.
