| Description | Rix has presented the matter of the damaged plates to the Royal Society's Treasurer, John Evans. He explains the current position of the case, namely that each firm denies liability but have offered to make good the damage. Evans is, however, of the opinion that the evidence suggests the printers' man to be at fault and not West, Newman & Company's, and so he has accepted Messrs Harrison & Sons offer, but without the expectation of their admitting liability.
Rix therefore asks that they supply to Harrison & Sons 175 copies of the plate in question at cost price, or at the lowest possible figure. The account will be sent to Messrs Harrison. |
