TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to [John William Strutt] Lord Rayleigh, [Royal Society]
Date17 December 1889
DescriptionAlthough the enclosed is addressed to him, Rix suggests that it does not seem to officially concern him. Rix believes that the Marquis is anxious to become a Foreign Member of the Royal Society, and has been mentioned in Council, and he sends it to Rayleigh as perhaps being more relevant to his role.

Professor Arthur William Rucker has given his manuscript to Rix and has shown him the points in which his woodcuts are not satisfactory. He has also seen the engraver, and have asked him to call on Thursday before 1pm so that Rayleigh may question him if he wishes.
