| Description | Rix notes that they have had a preliminary notice of his paper, but no abstract, and further adds that the reading of a preliminary notice does not mean that the paper itself need not be read.
It will be his decision whether they read the title, or whether Thorpe adopts the more regular reading with an associated discussion. If the latter, he can either give an oral statement and only the title will be published in the account of the meeting in 'Proceedings of the Royal Society', or he may submit an abstract which will be printed for use at the meeting and then published in the usual manner. The latter course is recommended if the preliminary notice misses any key points from the full paper.
A postscript emphasises the need not to delay in the matter. |
