TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Gilbert Charles Bourne, Marine Biological Laboratory, Plymouth
Date25 April 1889
DescriptionRix has, by chance, discovered that Bourne has fixed the day for the general meeting of the Marine Biological Association for the day of the Royal Society's Soirée, and therefore states that the day and time fixed are impossible. A press view including lantern slides is being held in the meeting room at exactly that time, and the other rooms will also be occupied for the whole day.

Rix proposes switching the venue to the Linnean Society to cause the least disruption to his plans. Rix has written to Foster about the matter, but Bourne should make other arrangements at once as they have already had to give up on holding their Government Grant meeting on that day. Rix is sorry Bourne will have to rearrange the meeting, but states that it is not his fault.
