TitleCopy letter from Herber Rix, to Messrs Drake & Gorham, 2 Princes Mansions, Victoria Street
Date13 May 1889
DescriptionMr Saunders, who works for Drake & Gorham, informed Rix of the failure of the valve in their engine on Friday, which the Royal Society Treasurer wishes to be fixed. Rix is aware of the temporary fix by Messrs Crossley, and is content with this, providing it will last for the rest of the session. He notes though, if there is any risk of failure, especially for their Soirée on 19 June, that the problem be seen to at once.
