TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to George John Romanes, Fellow of the Royal Society
Date31 May 1889
Description'Dear Sir,
I have the unpleasant duty of enclosing to you the accompanying account for a volume which we have purchased to replace one borrowed by you in June 1887, and lost. I am sorry that it is so expensive, but it is only after long waiting and repeated inquiry, that we have succeeded in getting the volume at any price.
Yours faithfully,
Herbert Rix
Asst. Sec. R.S. [Assistant Secretary, Royal Society]'
