TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Miss Alice Boole, 23 Island Road, Garston, Lancashire
Date8 June 1889
DescriptionBoole's letter to Rix's wife deals with an official matter, so he has decided to respond. The Boole manuscripts are in the possession of the Royal Society and may be consulted there, but they may not be copied without permission from the Council. It would be a formality in this instance as she is a relative, and if Boole will provide a note requesting their leave to copy, Rix will present it to the Council on 20 June. He has never known permission for a manuscript to leave the property be given, but there would be no harm in requesting that in her application.

It is important to submit the application before the 20th June, as this will be the last Council meeting before October.
