| Description | Rix reports that the Royal Horticultural Society have 'given up growing plants for decoration' and so have nothing to lend the Royal Society. Dr Michael Foster has written to William Turner Thiselton-Dyer to state that the Society had better hire and asking for his advice as to a suitable person to employ. Dyer's letter is enclosed, and Rix asks for Evans' advice.
Foster believes they should state a sum of money, but Rix thinks it would be better to obtain an estimate, but guesses the cost, based to the last Soirée, to be between 15 and 20 pounds. Rix suggests Veitch or someone similiar, and asks for a quick response. |
