| Description | Rix, in response to Fowler's letter of 17th August, reports that they have only two papers in hand, and have not begun to put any of next session's papers into type. If it would be particularly convenient to Mr Lockyer to have his paper put into type in advance, then Rix will ascertain Lord Rayleigh's whereabouts and seek his permission.
Rix further wishes to bring to his attention the matter of a book 'Annales l'Observatoire de Paris, Tome 5' returned to the Royal Society by their Laboratory in a very bad condition, which was set aside by the Assistant Librarian for Rix to view. If Lockyer is personally responsible they will write to him, but felt that they should first ascertain if it had been one of his assistants. Rix provides the cost to repair, and states that they wish to matter to be brought before the person responsible. |
