The whole number of 'Proceedings' ['Proceedings of the Royal Society'] is hung up by an omission or mistake in your paper at p 288 inclosed. Pray rectify it & let me have it back by return of post. I have consulted the (type-written) MS [manuscript] & find that it stands there as here printed.
