Description | Rix explains that Walter White, Assistant Secretary to the Royal Society in 1879, retired some time ago and Rix was unaware that he had promised to search for the manuscript to which Gevers referred in his letter. He is happy to undertake a search, and expresses confidence that if they have the manuscript in their possession it will be located.
Rix mentions that the assistant employed to catalogue the Society's manuscripts is currently on vacation, returning to town on 9 October. As soon as he returns, he will take up the matter. |
