TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Professor Michael Foster, Fellow of the Royal Society
Date4 November 1889
DescriptionRix reports that the circular regarding the [James Prescott] Joule Memorial has been printed, with the proof having been sent to and corrected by Sir Henry Roscoe. Rix assumes that these will not be sent to the Society's officers.

Also, in relation to a dinner, Spencer Walpole, a Fellow of the Royal Society, was put down as a representative of literature, and Rix wants to know whether he should ask Sir Edwin Arnold who was removed in his favour. Rix also states that he does not think there is an Italian minister here now, and wonders if he is to ask Catalani the Chargé d' Affaires who last year asked to be invited.
