TitleCopy letter and list from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Mr [Frank Watson] Dyson, [Fellow of the Royal Society, Greenwich Observatory]
Date14 February 1905
DescriptionThe Society cannot find amongst its archives a large parcel of manuscript records of magnetic observations, made by Dr Neumayer at Melbourne about 1860 and presented by him to the Society in January 1870. There is no doubt about the books having been received. Explains why he believes it must have been taken away quite early from the Society for use elsewhere and never returned. Dr Neumayer, the observer, is now desirous of studying his old observations and has written enquiring if the volumes are available. Asks if the manuscripts are by any chance among the magnetic material at the Observatory. Includes a list of the manuscripts presented to the Society by Neumayer.
