TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to H B Wheatley
Date15 February 1905
DescriptionEnquires what may have been done with manuscript observations presented to the Society around 35 years ago.

In January 1870 the Melbourne observatory presented the Society with the original magnetic observations made by Dr [George Balthasar] Neumayer ten years previously. Receipt of some 15 or 16 volumes is recorded in the Council Minutes but from that point on Harrison cannot trace them. Neumayer wishes to refer to them for scientific purposes and they are no where to be found. Kew and the Meteorological Office do not have them. Thinks it possible [Edward] Sabine may have taken them home or lent them to someone. Wonders if Wheatley can suggest any means of finding them.
