Description	Appreciates Mott's reasons for objecting to the wording of paragraph three of the memorandum on Sleeping Sickness. The reference to the lesions should have been put in the case of one monkey and not in the plural. With regard to the development of other symptoms similar to those of sleeping sickness, he thought that though the lesions had not been traced, some of the other features of the disease had been observed in the monkeys that died of it. It appears very difficult to promise a statement that will secure the approval of all concerned. Reminds Mott of the cause of having this memorandum drawn up; namely to remove the doubt on the Colonial Secretary's mind whether they know enough about the cause of the disease to justify any administrative action on his part.
