TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Miss Leslie, The Myrtles, Herne Bay
Date12 May 1905
DescriptionThanks Leslie for her letter of the previous day sending the miniature portrait of Humphry Davy. Having inspected it and shown it to several authorities at the Society, there is considerable doubt as to the identity of the sitter. Queries on what grounds she has to believe it is Davy. The miniature depicts a man apparently much older than 51, Davy's age at death, and in a costume which had become obsolete by 1829. Would be glad of a clue to the original portrait.
