TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Dr Edward Divers, Fellow of the Royal Society
Date6 June 1905
DescriptionHas no power to issue invitations to the Soiree but showed Divers' letter about a Soiree card for Mr Davidge to the authorities in the matter and is desired to point out that the difficulty the Society is in meeting Divers' request is that if they ask one Professor of a college it might cause 'heart-burnings' among the others who are not invited. There is also hesitation in making an exception on the present occasion as the Soiree Committee at their last meeting exhibited a tendency to restrict the list of invitations on account of the crowded state of the rooms. Suggests Divers try and find a member of the Soiree Committee who has an invitation to spare on his personal list of three.

Has communicated with Barraud about the Williamson portrait and they lead Harrison to suppose that they still have the negative and will be able to send a print of it.
