| Description | On 19 January the Council appointed a Committee of Christie Darwin, Dyson, Hinks, and Sampson to consider the most suitable method of reducing concurrently all the existing observations of the planet Eros for purposes of parallax et cetera. The matter was brought to the attention of the Council by an application from Sir Robert Ball preliminary to a further application on behalf of A R Hinks for a grant of £250 a year for six years from the Government Grant for this purpose. Copy of Hink's statement is enclosed [not enclosed].
It may be convenient if members of the Committee send their views in writing to the Society and in case an early meeting of the Committee appears necessary, suggested 17 February at three o'clock. It is hoped the Committee reach some decision in time to report to the Government Grant Committee. |
