Description | The Observatories Committee have considered the Annual Report for 1904 of the Kodaikanal, Madras [Chennai] and Bombay [Mumbai] Observatories, and a memorandum on them by the Meteorological Reporter and Director General of Observatories to the Government of India. In reply the Committee states five resolutions for transmission to the Government of India. These comprise: provision of a transit clock for the Madras Observatory; that the report of the Madras Observatory include a list of the instruments in that Observatory; formation of a sub-Committee to consider the Colaba magnetic observations; provision of negatives or glass positives of the spectre heliograms from Kodaikanal to be available for the Solar Physics Observatory; an expression of the Committee's satisfaction with the progress that has been made, particularly that the work of the spector-heliograph has now been initiated at Kodiakanal. |
