TitleCopy letter from F A Towle, to Sir Archibald Geikie, Isle of Canna by Oban, Argyleshire
Date10 August 1905
DescriptionEncloses a copy of a letter received this morning from the Colonial Office, also sends a copy of the most important of the enclosures: the remainder are mostly inter-departmental and moreover bulky [no enclosures present]. The letter of 3 April referred to it Geikie's long letter written after the Colonial Office Conference and suggesting six additional medical officers should be appointed.

The reference to the removal of the laboratory arises in connection with a letter from Commissioner Sadler to Mr Lytellton, estimating the cost of an extended scheme of investigation, including the removal of the laboratory to an island. In acknowledging the letter to the Colonial Office they stated the Society was at present in vacation but the matter would receive attention at the earliest possible moment. Sent round the report of the diseases of animals sub-committee to the Indian Government Advisory Committee stating that if no objections were received from them, a letter in the sense of the sub-committee report would be sent to the India Office. No objections have been received, will therefore draft a letter and send it to Geikie for his signature tomorrow.
