DescriptionThe President and Council of the Royal Society have awarded Poynting a Royal Medal for his researches in physical science, especially in connection with the constant of gravitation and the theories of electrodynamics and radiation. It is hoped Poynting may be able to attend the Anniversary Meeting of the Society on 30 November, to receive the medal in person.
