TitleCopy letter from Archibald Geikie, to Professor Edward Arthur Milne, Fellow of the Royal Society, Shide, Newport, Isle of Wight
Date17 November 1905
DescriptionUntil they hear definitely that the French Government decline from the International Seismic organisation there is no business, so far as Geikie knows, to bring before the Seismological Committee, but that need not be a reason not to come and see Chree at Kew. Thinks is advisable Milne and Chree meet and that Geikie and he discuss the proposal made in Geikie's letter written after the last meeting of the Seismological Committee. If anything is to be done in regard to the Government Grant, the application must be sent in by the end of the year and there will need to be some correspondence with the B and D boards before a concerted plan can be decided upon. Obviously nothing can be done until they have Milne's full concurrence to start with.
